DASK - ANATOLIA MOUNTAIN MARATHON is a adventure competition in nature organized by DASK. It is a competitive event for teams of two. At the start of each day teams are presented with a course of varying numbers of control stations which are identified on the map. They must visit each control station in the prescribed order but may chose their own route between each station. A feature of the event is the overnight camp at which all teams must be self-sufficient with everything being carried throughout the two days of competition. The courses are planned using the outdoor country map scale 1:25000, and this map is given to every competitor just before competition.
The precise location of the start/finish which is changed from year to year.
It can be participated in DASK DOGAY as a competitor or as a viewer.
2.1. As a Viewer Every one who wants can participate as a viewer. The viewers also must register themselves for their security and they must do for regulations. The viewers can participate in the other activities paying a little fee, such as orienteering, cross country race, walking to know which animals live and which plants grow here.
2.2. As a Competitor Every one can participate in this competition. It can be registered before of race or on the camp side. It is only possible to register as a team. over 18 years old or under 18 with permission of her/his family except the members of organising committee and the jury. Applications can also be made on the day of competition. To know how to use compass and map is compulsory. Anyone does not have enough information about using compass and map, he/she must go in for training before day of race between 12:00 and 18:00. This training is free.
2.3. The Courses There are three courses. Every team selects the course what it want. Who is above 18, can select long or intermediate course. Who is age over 12 but below 18 can participate in the race with anyone over 18, permission of parent.
2.4. Necessary Documents to join in the race
a) Competition Fee Delivery Note The competition fee is announced on DASK web site. These fees can be paid before the first day of the competition or placed to the İş Bankası, Kızılay Branch of Ankara, account number is 4214-1453006 .
c) Accepting of the Risks Form
You can send this documents for information via fax, e-mail, postal service or cargo . The delays is not acceptable via postal service or cargo.
The originals of these forms must be given to the DASK DAMM attendants at the registry desk before competition. If not, They can not participate in the competition and their entry fees are not given back. The last registry is at 22:00 o'clock on the previous day of the race. 3.1. The competitors coming to DASK DAMM camp, primarily turn to Registry Desk. a- They give filled up Team Entry Forms or fill them. b- They give their subscription documents of entry fees or they pay them. c- They give their Accepting of the Risk Forms or fill them. d- They give their Medical Certificate Forms or fill them. e- They give their Compulsory Equipment Forms or fill them.
3.2. DASK DAMM Remembrance Packet and Attendance Document are given to the registered competitors.
3.3. The information packet about the course selected by team are given to the competitors just before the race.
The contents of the information packet:
3.4. The competitor are instructed in the DASK DAMM camp at 22:30 o'clock on the previous day of the race. In this meeting, it is given the starting time of the team, the detail explanations are made about race field and the wild animals in the race filed. For this reason, the competitors have to join into this meeting. 3.5. The competitors must be ready before 15 minutes of their starting time given to them. The competitors start to race with appropriate minute intervals ( 5 to 10 minutes). If any team does not come to race in time notified to, the starting time to race of this team is noticed time before. The first starting time to race is determined by Organization Committee depends on atmospheric situations.
4.1. The competitors over 18 years old can participate in long and intermediate courses. The competitors over 12 and below 18 years old can participate in short course. The organiser reserves the right to reassign teams to a different category. The competitors must follow the rules, if any team don't obey the rules, the team is eliminated. 4.2. The competitors must wear their waists include on team number until the end of race and during the award ceremony. 4.3. The teams must to drop in on the control station in given order and they must make their form to sign to the officials. If a team pass any control point, the team are out of the competition. The control point officials are formed with very capable persons who help you physically and medically. These forms will be given to the attendants after finishing of race on first and second day. The rating of competitors will be made according these forms and the report of the attendants. 4.4. During the race, competitors must carry their compulsory equipments. The attendants may control the teams in any place and time. Until completion of the course, all competitors will be expected to have possession of some emergency rations. The throwing away of equipment or food during the event may lead to disqualification and Organization Committee is not responsible for risks. 4.5. The attendants are authorized to decide whether the competitors will continue to race or not because of security of the competitors or health problem of the competitors. The attendants are also authorized to eliminate the competitors. 4.6. The teams must respectively visit the all stations. If any team don't visit any station, it is automatically eliminated. The teams are responsibility of delays in the station. The teams must visit the station together, otherwise the arrival time to station is the time that when the second member of the team came. 4.7. Pairs must maintain contact with each other throughout the entire competition (not far from 30 meters each other) and there is no anyone with them. 4.8. The teams must roost with their own possibilities on the mid-way campsite. The teams must carry their food and beverage with them during the race. The secondary camp is not visited by others except the attendants and competitors. 4.9. GPS (Global Positioning System) or any device includes GPS is not allowed to use. If any team use GPS, the team can not join into other next races. 4.10. The competitors must not be harmful to special property and the environment, they will carry their litters in a bag to the camp. 4.11. It is not allowed to make a fire or to use cooker out of the camp site. The team doesn't obey the rules is eliminated. No participant may leave the campsite without the Organiser's permission. 4.12. If any member of a team is unable to continue, the other member of the team must assist him/her to the nearest control point or road and report their retirement. In no circumstances may the unaffected member continue along the course alone. 4.13. There are direction signs on some places. The team changes them any way is eliminated. 4.14. Teams who cannot arrive at the checkpoint before the specified closing time must call the Organisers or report to the nearest checkpoint immediately. They should, according to the Organiser's instructions, stay at the checkpoint and wait for the arrangement by the Organiser. Under such circumstances, they may continue the race of Day 2 with the Organiser's approval, but their results will not be ranked. 4.15. The Organization Committee can decide to cancel, change or postpone the competition totally or any part because of the conditions. In this case the entry fees are not given back. The Organization Committee can have to decide what happens. 4.16. The Organization Committee can changes the rules when it is necessary. 5. RANKING, AWARDING AND EXHIBITION 5.1. The winning teams will be determined by the lowest aggregate time over the entire course. 5.2. The first 3 degrees are awarded with DAMM statues and other rewards. 5.3. It can be given special awards by Organization Committee according to the opinions of the station attendants 5.3. The awards are declared during ceremony.
6. ARRIVAL, CAMPING, PROGRAMME, ENTRY FEE AND COMMUNICATION
6.1. ARRIVAL: The competitors and viewers reach to competition area (DASK CampSite) with their own facilities. The details of arrival and the road plan is notified before the competition. If an organization is made for collective transportation, it is announced .
6.2. CAMPING : The all competitors and viewers camp with their own facilities. The camping options are announced before the competition.
6.3. PROGRAMME : The details of the competition programme are announced before 1 month of the competition.
6.4. ENTRY FEE : The entry fees are announced before 3 months of the competition
